'Let's keep up the good work' on farmland preservation

Thanks to Roger Gavan and The Warwick Advertiser for the fine article on farmland preservation and PDR in Warwick. I appreciate the remembrance of Seymour Gordon.
One important point that wasn’t made totally clear: Historically, we’ve received about a 50 percent match for our local PDR money from county, state and federal sources.
For every dollar we’ve raised, we leverage 50 cents. This greatly increases our preservation efforts.
These entities have always tended to help those who help themselves and it has been a boon to us.
In recent years we have also received 15-25 percent matching funds from the Open Space Institute.
