Keep Valley View under county control

I recently spent three weeks at Valley View Nursing Home for rehabilitation after major spinal surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery, a nationally renowned institution where the staff was very professional.

I found the staff at Valley View to be not only equally professional but also dedicated and compassionate. We in Orange County are extremely fortunate to have this treasure.

In my opinion every tax dollar is well spent in the operation of this institution. Services such as this for our seniors and those in need of rehabilitation should not be controlled by the motive to make a profit.

I urge the county legislators to continue operating Valley View as a county run facility.

Any legislator who votes to privatize Valley View needs to realize that there will be consequences in November 2013 when they are up for reelection.
