‘It won’t be perfect but it will give hope’
We are being called to make a choice this November and all voters have a stake in the outcome.
Do we vote for a government who will support our youth, elderly and unemployed; a government that will pay down the deficit, bolster infrastructure and regulate industries that need supervision?
Or do we choose extreme financial independence, very limited government intervention and the right to sink or swim on our own?
I must choose a strong central government. We are one nation and must set some goals that we will all follow.
Businesses and the banking industry must be pressured to follow ethical standards.
Health care is too important to leave to the different values of the states.
Effective education ensures a good future for this country and we must make it a priority, even while we pay off our debts.
So as you think about your vote, think about one more thing: If we assist those who badly need our help and support a more caring country, we will be living in a better, kinder place.
It won’t be perfect but it will give hope to all of us.
And that is why I will vote for Democrats including Obama, Maloney and Gillibrand.
