It takes a village

Dear friends and neighbors,

I have lived in the village of Warwick as a single mother for 10 years.

Recently my teenage boys and I had to leave our rented home that we had lived in for almost eight years. We want to take this opportunity to thank the many loving and kind people in this village that helped us move:

St. Stephen Catholic Church (we are not members), Matt Juliano and family friend, the lovely Mr. and Mrs. Chris Bruder, local teacher and friend Rob Kirschke, dear friend Noreen Cummings and countless others.

We also want to thank those of you that cried and prayed with us and for us. We love you all.

Yes, we are still in Warwick and the boys will finish at Warwick Valley High School.

Many of you know me from my job at Albert Wisner Public Library and as leader of the Warwick Eclectic Book Group. Please stop by the library Help Desk to see me.

We could not have not done it without you.

I am available to help any of you at any time if you need me. However, I will not be driving or parking a UHAUL. Not a surprise to close friends (insert laughing emoji).

In our case it actually took a village to help us move and we will never forget it. I felt like George Bailey from It's A Wonderful Life as I looked out at all the faces that came to help and make sure my sons Spenser and Ethan were okay with this big unwanted change to their lives.

    Sincerely,

    Allison Petrus-Wilkins

    Friend and neighbor
