'It takes a town like Warwick'
This year Noble Pies is celebrating 10 years in business in Warwick.
Reflecting on our past, we have much to be thankful for.
The tumbling economy in 2008 devastated our family financially. Desperate, I dusted off my pie recipes from my grandmother and frantically started baking.
We sold pies on the side of the road, in local businesses and sampled them everywhere we could.
Our children, parents and friends helped us.
Many local business owners were kind enough to help us get started by giving us space, and helping us source ingredients.
Everyone knew our “TURN BACK FOR PIE” signs on the highway.
We delivered to people’s homes for the holidays until a very kind landlord (the same one we have today) invited us in from the cold roadside.
He believed in us.
Slowly scraping pennies together we were able to open the bakery. There was no business plan, no investors, no loans. Just some used equipment and a determination to make great pies.
Our success has been driven by the support of our customers and the Warwick community.
Thank you for believing in us ... for taking that chance and turning back for pie.
Some people ask us how they too can open up a small business like ours. We tell them that they can’t do it just anywhere:
It takes a town like Warwick.
Thank you,
Leslie Noble and family
