'It is sometimes necessary to negotiate with a bully'
I have great respect for the position of President of the United States.
The Bill of Rights, the Constitution and supporting laws are in place to respect the individual with checks and balances that has worked better than in any other government.
It is a work in process. It is changed, not by bullying but by rule of law.
Unluckily we are now seeing the attempt at bullying over a border wall.
We have seen the results of the efficiency of border walls (the Russian built Berlin Wall).
There are many ways to circumvent a wall, especially along only one border. (The next logical step would be a wall around all 50 states.)
It is sometimes necessary to negotiate with a bully.
For a great negotiator, a solution would be to agree to fund a wall only with matching funds from Mexico, which would be a longer way to meet his campaign promises.
The United States will survive even stronger as long as bullies are recognized and confronted.
Thank you, Republicans, Democrats and Independents.
