Hometown help

Our Warwick-based non-profit Beautiful People received another vote of confidence this week from the Warwick Valley Rotary Club.
Their donations help support our adaptive sports programs for children and young adults with disabilities. Seasons of baseball, soccer and basketball are played by more than 200 kids who come from all over Orange County.
Adults and teen volunteers also participate as one-on-one “buddies” to help the players as much as is needed.
Currently 35 of those volunteers come each week from Warwick. Sponsorship dollars are also strong from Warwick businesses. Three teams are represented by The Mulberry Tree Learning Center, La Petite Cuisine and Warwick Press.
Two other teams are sponsored by the Bumble Bee Project of Greenwood Lake and SureHands Lift and Care Systems in Pine Island.
Beautiful People founder Peter Ladka’s Warwick-based software solutions company is Parse3, of which two coaches and a pitcher are employees who put in time for BP to make the games safe and fun.
Our friends from the Soccer Club, the Little League, and even scout troops come out for us.
We could fill a full page with names of other organizations and individuals who, as board members, advisors and donors have given generously to help us grow. We are so proud that our mission has the care and attention of our home town.
Thank you to all.
