Heros and rotary flags

Some people never have anything good to say. In spite of that they blab on.
Such was a recent post by a Warwick resident mystified by one's personal choice in selecting their hero.
Hero's come in many shapes and sizes. Our soldiers are heros to be sure but there are many others.
Although my father stormed the beaches of Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal, he was not the one I selected as my hero.
It was his wife who continued to love a violent and rage-filled man damaged by that war.
It was my mother whose unconditional love neglected to replace her worn and tattered winter coat to better provide for me after my father died.
I will never question one's choice of heros because they are all around us in flesh or in spirit.
