Grateful to the Warwick community

We were far from home on a cold Friday night recently, when we received multiple calls - the kind of news no one wants ever to get - from our alarm company's central security station, the Warwick Fire and Police Departments and a few neighbors and friends, informing us that there was a fire in our home.

The smoke alarm triggered the chain of phone calls and the Warwick Fire Department's prompt and vigorous response to put out the fire in the boiler, which saved our house and what could have been a far worse scenario.

And thankfully no one was hurt.

Many people jumped in to help, facing frigid weather on a holiday weekend to restore electric, replace doors, secure the house and prevent the pipes from freezing before a new boiler could be installed three days later.

This event just underscores for us once again the real meaning of community and how very special this one is.

Our deepest gratitude goes to all those who came to our rescue and most especially the Warwick Fire and Police Departments, Bruce Eurich, Peter Mino, State Farm Insurance, All-Safe Security Systems and Carpenter & Smith.
