Grateful for Warwick’s Angel Tree

On behalf of Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry, and all of the families it serves, I am writing to thank Betsy Mitchell for once again mounting the annual holiday Angel Tree on Warwick’s Main Street.
Located on the fence between Akin's Drug Store and Newhard's, the Angel Tree was on display from mid-November until after Christmas. Each angel on the tree identified a child by gender and age, and suggested an appropriate small gift. Passersby selected an angel and delivered the suggested gift to Track 7 Postal Center at 3 Forester Ave., corner of Colonial Avenue.
The tree also featured pledge cards in multiple denominations for people who wished with a monetary donation to help the pantry in its primary mission of feeding hungry people in our community.
Response from the community was strong as always. We are grateful for the generosity of our neighbors. Thanks are due also to Eileen and Jim Patterson, owners of Track 7 Postal Center, for providing the drop-off point for Angel Tree gifts, as well as for serving as a drop-off point for donations to the pantry year round.
Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry is located in Warwick United Methodist Church at 135 Forester Ave. at the corner of Route 17A/Galloway, entry from the rear parking area.
The pantry is open Monday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. All residents of the Town of Warwick are welcome.
