'Dulce Esperanza:' The Warwick Area Migrant Committee needs your help

| 28 Jun 2018 | 03:01

I am contacting you on behalf of the Warwick Area Migrant Committee, an Orange County based non-profit serving the needs of farm workers and their families since 1959.
Founded by the Orange County Council of Churches, the most important program we operate is a summer enrichment program for children.
We are currently $25,000 short of our goal budget, which has reduced the number of children we will be able to serve from 100 to 75.
If we can raise the remaining funds, all of the children will have a place to go this summer while their parents are working in our local fields.
Will you help us meet this goal?
The parents work long hours during the summer months, leaving very little choice in how they can care for their children.
The summer program operates for seven weeks, from Monday through Friday, during the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a safe environment, academic enrichment and healthy activities, as well as breakfast, lunch and a snack to bring home.
The children have named this program “Dulce Esperanza” or “Sweet Hope.” They have hope they will have better opportunities to learn, go to college, and become successful.
They see how hard their parents work every day and dream of having brighter futures. They speak of becoming doctors, nurses, teachers and many other professions. Your tax deductible donation can help make these dreams a reality.
The program depends on donations and some limited grants to operate and so we are contacting potential sponsors for assistance.
We are requesting sponsorship at any level, $1,000, $1,500, $2,000 or $5,000, but we will accept any donation.
WAMC is a private foundation, and your donation is tax-deductible. Our Tax Id # is 14-151540.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more, please contact me at the email or phone number below.
Sincerely,
Katherine Brieger, CCE, RD
