Concerts and events help, not hinder
On the article regarding free concerts in the Village on weekend evenings or afternoons:
Evenings, especially in summer, are cooler - there is little to no shade for performers or attendees.
Yes, restaurants not on Railroad Avenue certainly might find more folks patronizing Railroad Avenue restaurants as they are closer, but once full, folks will go up to Main Street establishments.
People eat where they love the food. The economy reflects less business; it's not really any events fault. To be fair to everyone is impossible, some will always be unhappy.
The concerts bring people into the village, this is always a good thing.
What brings people into a restaurant is great food, even better service and consistency of product, environment and atmosphere ... and people with discretionary income.
Concerts and events help, not hinder.
