‘Coffee? My treat’
About two weeks ago, I posted a notice on the bulletin board at the Warwick Post Office inviting people to a forum on War and Conflict Resolution on April 4.
I also posted a brochure offering support services to veterans from an organization called VETFAMSA.
When I returned to the post office a couple of days later, the notice for the forum was no longer there; the brochure remained.
I posted another and again, that one went missing. I have posted another with the request written across the top that it be left posted.
Clearly, someone is upset about this forum notice.
I would welcome meeting with this person - over coffee, perhaps? My treat. I am a good listener and I try not to make assumptions about what this might be about. My name and number are on the flier.
I am listed in the telephone book.
In the meantime, I hope people will consider coming to the forum to discuss when and why do we go to war?
Is there an alternative to protecting ourselves and resolving conflicts? It will be from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, 9 Vance Road, (off Route 207), Rock Tavern.
