Brian Endrikat announces bid for GWL BOE

    I have been a resident of the Greenwood Lake Union Free School District for the past 12 years. I have two children who are currently in Greenwood Lake schools and one who will be starting school in the fall of 2014. At that time, I will have a child in each school including high school. I have a vested interest in helping to make the best possible choices for our school district.

    I believe in serving the community through volunteering. My active involvement with our local Boy Scouts includes being a Den Leader for my younger son’s den within his Cub Scout Troop and serving as a Committee member for my older son’s Boy Scout Troop. I am looking forward to serving the community as a school board member as well.

    My career experience as a construction professional gives me unique qualifications that I will use for the benefit of the district. My position requires great attention to detail, handling multiple tasks and challenges at the same time as well as working with many layers of management and tradesmen on multi-million dollar commercial construction projects. I work with complex contracts and detailed blueprints on daily basis as part of the team building Tower Two at the World Trade Center. Managing teams of craftsmen, coordinating their activities with other trades involved in the project and handling crises calmly and effectively are all routine daily tasks.

    I have a talent for coming up with creative, win-win solutions that benefit all parties while staying within budgetary guidelines. Analyzing complex situations and then formulating the best and most cost effective way to handle them is a skill I have honed throughout my career.

    I know my skills and experience will prove extremely beneficial to our school district and community.

    I intend to look at all the facts concerning school board issues and make informed decisions that are the best for all our children and the community. My intention is to serve on the board in an impartial manner. I have no preconceived agenda going into this endeavor. My only goal is to help the Greenwood Lake School Board accomplish the tasks that will best serve our children and the community.
