'Be still my beating heart'

Thump, thump, thump is what we felt in our chests while pushing our carts through the ShopRite parking lot on Monday, July 3, at 3 p.m.
Our first thought was: Is this what the residents in the Village of Warwick living near 16 Elm St. are going to feel (and hear) during a typical summer evening?
Of course, this is not a slight on Pennings Farm, who have built a fabulous indoor/outdoor establishment in harmony with their nearby residential neighbors.
Take this same scenario and situate it in the proposed new location in town and you’ve created a nightmare for the people who live in the area.
But, what has us more distressed is the lack of information and documentation surrounding the proposed project that leads all of us to use our imaginations and thus draw negative conclusions related to whatever plans are currently underway.
We ask that Mayor Newhard and the Village board be as transparent as possible with this project and consider the impact this has to the local taxpayer and voter.
We are concerned citizens of Warwick.
