Applefest says thank you to the Warwick Police Department

| 24 Nov 2017 | 10:33

In this season of giving thanks, the Warwick Applefest planning committee and host organization, the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce, wish to express our appreciation for the time, effort and organizational work done by Lt. John Rader and the leaders and members of the Warwick Police Department (WPD) to hold a safe and secure festival each year.
We greatly value the longtime working relationship shared by the Applefest Committee, the Chamber and the WPD to plan and host the festival.
Each year, holding an event of this size, which draws some 30,000 visitors to our town and village on a single day, requires a tremendous amount of planning, preparation, attention to detail and coordination with other agencies.
Officers stationed in the festival area not only help with the security aspect of the event, but also interact with visitors - answering questions, giving directions and providing information in a friendly and helpful manner.
We recognize that the festival day is a very busy one for the WPD since, in addition to assisting with Applefest, the department must also cover its regular duties throughout the community.
We offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to the members of the Warwick Police Department for all they do to assist with Applefest each year before, during and after the event.
Additionally, we offer thanks and gratitude for all the WPD does to help and protect our wonderful community - each and every day.
Many thanks - we couldn't do it without you!
Sincerely,
The Applefest 2017 Committee
