A response to Jerry Berman's climate change letter

It is hard to know where to begin to address all the falsehoods in Jerry Berman's letter regarding climate change. But I think it is important to understand that as far as what legitimate scientists in this field think, there is no longer any discussion taking place. The debate is over. Global climate change is now an accepted scientific fact. You would be hard pressed to even find a single legitimate scientist who would agree with people like Mr. Berman. Every survey I have seen of of scientists on this issue show that between 97 and 99 percent consider global climate change a fact, and also a problem that needs to be addressed immediately. And this is not a "left-right" issue. It is a human survival issue.

People like Mr. Berman are not only wrong, they are a danger to society, because they are convincing people that nothing needs to be done about this problem. A lot needs to be done, and we all need to participate.

Oh, and as far as Mr. Gore's own house goes, this from TheDailyGreen.com:

"The Gores' home is certified by the US Green Building Council as a Gold LEED certified home for retrofitted homes. As part of the LEED certification process, they upgraded their windows, lighting, appliances and insulation, among other items in and around the home. The residence is powered with a geothermal system as well as 33-solar panels. The Gores also participate in the 'Green PowerSwitch' program offered by their utility company."
