A great Pine Island summer
As summer is coming to an end, it is time to reflect on the happenings of this past summer and to thank some people who made Pine Island Recreation the success that it was.
The campers as well as counselors had a fantastic time in Pine Island Park that Bill Roe and his crew took such wonderful care of. They were only a phone call away for any of our needs.
Thank you to the Town of Warwick DPW for loaning us a generator for our Carnival Day.
We would like to acknowledge retired Detective Mary Maslanka and Officer Michelle Kozlowski for taking the time to do a presentation on bullying for the campers.
Thank you to CJ’s Country Market, C&D Old World Bagels and Harvest Luncheonette for always accommodating us with the last-minute changes on the bagel and pizza orders and to JADS for the delicious watermelon for the campers.
Wet Wednesdays would not have happened without our loyal and dedicated Pine Island Fire Department. Thank you to Scott Corter, Pete Vutianitis, Jim Rudy, Pat Cunningham and Dave Paffenroth for taking time out of your busy day to bring the fire truck to the park.
Thank you to the Pine Island Fire District and the Pine Island Fire Department for also loaning us a generator for Carnival Day. Firefighters Pat Cunningham and Charlie Hoffman delivered the generator bright and early and picked it up at the end of the day.
We would also like to acknowledge the generosity of Orange County Rentals for all that they did for us including setting up the inflatables before the start of their regular work day so that everything would be ready for the 9:30 a.m. start of Rec.
Campers, know that our counselors Hannah, Ryan, Rory, Tom, Kate, Charlie, James, Eddie,Kevin, Haley, Caroline, Jenny, Regina, Bridget, Liam,Connor and Shanna as well as our counselors-in-training Kristin, Isabella, John and Anthony had as great a time as you did.
Have a great school year and know that we look forward to seeing all of you next summer.
