I thought global warming was going to toast us'
To the editor I’d like to respond to the letter to the editor appearing in The Warwick Advertiser on Aug. 18 titled, “Without PDR, Warwick will be like toast - or Rockland.” Gee, I thought it was “global warming” that was going to toast us. And, what’s wrong with Rockland County? Isn’t it the gateway to Warwick - from the southeast anyway? The author of the letter laments that “PDR money is just about gone.” Folks, it is never enough! So now, he has plans for a transfer tax on property, indicating “this fee is our last best chance to preserve the character of our community.” Huh, all I’ve read the last couple of weeks was “It’s the Bookstore, stupid!” Just a couple of years ago, the author of the letter instructed us then that it was a grocery store. Which is it, food or books? Oh neither, it’s a transfer tax, oh, OK. And what if we don’t enact this highbrow tax scheme, our taxes will go up again, oh, OK. Sounds shifty, professor!
