Homestead Village Homeowners thank first-responders for their help
To the editor: On behalf of the residents of Homestead Village, I would like to thank our Warwick Fire Department and the more than 100 firefighters from six towns who bravely fought the tragic fire in our community on Friday, Feb. 16. Miraculously, there was no loss of life. Your quick and professional response kept the fire from spreading and kept the damage contained to three units. More important, your compassionate kindness to our displaced residents is greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. We would like to thank the Warwick Ambulance Corps, the Warwick Police Department, the Department of Public Works and Orange and Rockland Utilities Inc. for helping our residents, restoring power promptly and securing the affected building. We are also grateful to Village of Warwick Building Inspector Dan Kelly and his assistant, Joe Smith, for their invaluable counsel and advice during this unprecedented tragedy. All of you volunteers are angels who say your prayers through your dedication to duty and your kindness to others. May God Bless you always and keep you safe.
