Good riddance' to Camp LaGuardia
To the editor: In response to the “Exchanging One Problem For Another” at Camp LaGuardia and the “Happy Camper” article of Dec. 1, most of the “residents” or clients as VOA referred to them are not native to Orange County. These folks are homeless by virtue of having been in jail in N.Y.C. and upon release, being homeless, became sheltered in Orange County. They never should have been our problem. As to the Happy Camper with the “inherited condition,” perhaps if your female family members were verbally or physically assaulted, flashed or propositioned, you might show a little more respect for your neighbors who suffered in silence through this passing occupation. It’s easy to condescendingly criticize when it’s the other guy getting mugged. Good riddance, never again! Charles J. Bohan Blooming Grove Town Supervisor
