Editor’s note: The following comments were posted to recent stories appearing on the online version of The Warwick Advertiser at www.warwickadvertiser.com. Responding to a recent letter writer questioning the science of global warming: • Author: Ann Comment: If global warming wasn’t such a serious issue then your words would almost be funny! But hey, Mr “Outdoors Man.” I am sure that you have really done your homework and really know what’s going on! Interesting that when someone disagrees with you, you refer to them as hippy. I would say, with your head-in-the-clouds theories, that it’s you that’s been smoking too much. Sad. On breaking ground for a new building for the United African Methodist Episcopal Church in Warwick: • Author: Cynthia Whitfield Comment: I was fortunate to attend this event as a guest of Channabel Latham-Morris. This is a great day for African Methodism as our churches are growing out of the older buildings and having to build bigger and better ones. The program was wonderful and Bishop Norris spoke to the occasion as well as Tony Smith ministering us with his music. All who are AME’s should be proud and congratulations to Rev. Vernon Peters who is the shepherd of this wonderful flock. On the ruckus students at Warwick Valley High School caused during the waning days of the semester: • Author: changing Comment: I remember the good ole days here in Warwick, where the worst that happened is a window may have been broken by a baseball. Now the kids go nuts. Glad to say that I don’t have kids in this school system any more. Good luck to the parents of kids that have deal with this nonsense year after year. What’s next - metal detectors? Oh, the good ole days, bring them back. On the fire that destroyed the Warwick Motel: • Author: bribaby1219 Comment: Patrick Fitapelli is a true hero. If it wasn’t for him risking his own life, some people could have been killed.
