‘For those who will come after us'

To the editor: The Warwick Smart Growth Alliance wants to thank all those who supported establishing a Community Preservation Fund on Nov. 7. We also wish to thank all those who, whether supporters or opponents, contributed to a civil public debate. It is worth emphasizing the nearly unanimous agreement by people on both sides of the discussion that open space and preservation of our rural character are important to us and the quality of life we enjoy here. We hope all of us can continue to work together to find ways to preserve what we treasure in all of Warwick. We strongly believe that the whole community will come to see the many benefits of establishing a Community Preservation Fund. This is one tool to save open space and protect our aquifers. We think this is part of a good legacy to leave for those who will come after us.
