Fireworks come with parental responsibility

To the editor: I live in the village of Warwick. After returning home from a family vacation over the Forth of July, my husband and I were angered by the amount of firework debris we found on our lawn, deck and roof. Living on only half-acre lots, this type of celebration can become very dangerous quickly. We also enjoy celebrating the fourth of July, but feel fireworks should only be viewed from an organized event. Fireworks in Warwick are illegal. We know children love fireworks, but are asking parents to be responsible if you choose to allow them to set them off, and not to do so in the close proximity of their neighbors.
