Few have given as much as Jerry Sommer to improve Warwick

To the editor: I write to express my enthusiastic support for Jerry Sommer, an outstanding member of our community, who is a candidate for the Warwick Valley School Board. Few individuals in any community have given as much to improve the welfare of its residents as has Jerry Sommer. His interest, passion and dedication, especially to Warwick’s youth, make him a logical choice for the school board. Jerry has the solid experience that comes from being a past Warwick Valley School Board member where he served on the Music and Arts, Political Action and Prevention of Bullying Committees. He also worked to find solutions to our increasing taxes through his involvement in the Summit on School Tax Reform. And anyone who has attended the annual Ultamania Basketball Game in the past six years knows that Jerry Sommer was the host and master of ceremonies. His community involvement is equally impressive. Jerry has given his time to numerous organizations that have benefited the Town of Warwick and Orange County. Among them are the Recreation Committee, the Lions, Orange Environment and various groups dedicated to preserving farmland, open space and a sustainable local economy. Jerry Sommer should be on the next school board for one more important reason. In all of the work he has done for our community he has only asked for one thing in return: To be able to help continue making Warwick the premier town in the Hudson Valley.
