To the editor: As we draw closer to Election Day, the importance of this election and how it can affect our lives and our country are being brought home to us daily. We all want thoughtful, hardworking, and dedicated public servants. That is why I am delighted to recommend Judge Richard Farina for County Court. Judge Farina has spent his adult life serving in the courts. He is greatly respected by other judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, victims, and defendants alike. His legal experience includes being Law Secretary to Judge Angelo J. Ingrassia, a County Court and Supreme Court Justice in Goshen; Warwick Village Justice; judicial assignments in Newburgh, Village of Tuxedo Park and New York City; other city court assignments in Middletown, Newburgh, Yonkers, White Plains and Beacon. Richard Farina has also taught and trained lawyers and judges through the Annual Training of Justices and as a Director of the Magistrate Certification Programs. He became trained in arbitration and mediation and is a past Director of the Orange County Mediation Project and the Pro-Bono Assigned Counsel Plan. He is a member of the Orange County and NYS Bar Associations, Orange County and N.Y.S. Magistrates Associations and a board member of the Warwick Day Care Center. Judge Farina received the Hon. Joseph F. Gagliardi Award for Excellence to celebrate his outstanding service in the judicial system. Justice Ingrassia describes Judge Farina in the following way: “... because of his wide judicial experience in Warwick and the city courts of Middletown and Newburgh, he has the knowledge and judicial temperament to do an outstanding job. I don’t hesitate to give him my highest recommendation.” Voting for Judge Richard Farina is a vote for a very experienced, fair, educated, and highly respected judge who has demonstrated his commitment to his profession and those of us he serves, time and time again.
