Ethics, morality and truck leases

To the editor: I have been following the letters to the editor and comments by the mayor regarding the lease of Ford trucks by the Village of Warwick. I am disturbed by Mr. Leo Kaytes Sr. statement about ethics. He has decided that it is ethical to drag onto the carpet the Village of Warwick and Mr. McManus. Given the situation I believe that his argument about ethics could be correct. My issue with Mr. Kaytes is a matter of morality. Is it moral to put the value of the lease of five trucks over the names and reputations of some of the fine people of this village? I happen to know Mr. McManus personally and I also know of the struggle he and his family are going through right now. I believe that in this small town the news of that struggle was very clear to Mr. Kaytes when he decided that his ethics outweighed morality. In my humble opinion, this is as simple as money and grudges outweighing people’s families and quality of life. Mr. Kaytes, I have purchased a 2003 Ford F350 from you in the past. I promise to you and the people whose names you have devalued that I will never purchase another vehicle from you again. I believe your morality on this issue has been blinded by your pursuit of ethics. Bruce Carlson Warwick
