Emergency notifications

I am writing this letter hopefully to help assess the present emergency response and notification system in the event of a future disaster. First, the Warwick Village and Town Web sites were useless; there was no update information, especially when needed on Saturday and Sunday of the storm. As for the emergency phone notifications, I would give it a grade of C-. The messages were greatly appreciated but by Sunday afternoon, it seemed like the rumor-mill ruled the day. The thought of being in the pathway of a damaged reservoir dam was quite scary, but there was no anything: No phone message, nothing on the Web sites, no breaking news on television or radio. It wasn’t until Tuesday morning that I saw anything again about having to boil the village tap water; I saw it on News 12. There was one phone notification on Sunday morning. I guess I’m just trying to point out that our very local emergency notification system needs a real modernization. Kevin Murphy Warwick
