‘Don't hinder progress: Vote no on library'

To the editor: Do we need a new library in Warwick? Let’s see, Sweden’s Post-och Inrikes Tidningar newspaper, founded in 1645, world’s oldest paper still in circulation, just became a Web-only publication. This is a harbinger of the fact that new technology will make old style libraries obsolete. And we do not need a ultra-expensive social club where topics like “How Romans stole their building technology from American Indians” will be presented to minuscule audiences. And, yes, you can afford monthly Internet charges. Just drop your “New Yorker” subscription. Do not hinder progress: Vote “NO” on March 8. Vladimir Golyakhovsky Sugar Loaf
