Debate should answer the voters' questions
To the editor: However worthy the candidates may be for the office of supervisor for the Town of Warwick, there have been letters to the editor that amount to an endorsement largely in favor of that candidate’s party. It was good to see finally that there will be a debate hosted by the chamber on the evening of the Oct. 23. It has amazed me to try to believe someone running for office would depend entirely on a Web site and very early on not respond to a personal letter inquiring to know something about the issues of that candidate, The present leadership in the village and town are fully aware how often I have implored the local governments to share their political view, and actions with the public, which are often secret until after the fact. Hopefully, the questions to be asked at Tuesday’s debate will resolve for the people of the Town of Warwick the right questions, which could be revealing to the people who vote. It is only my judgement, but I would heartily approve that people who write letters to any newspaper be identified in some way other than just a name. John A. Porter Warwick
