Death does not have the last word'
To the editor: I would like to thank my many, many friends who cared for, encouraged, nourished, and aid their last respects to my wife Colly, during her illness, last days and subsequent death from breast cancer. So many people wanted to celebrate Colly’s life and prove that death does not have the last word. I would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at St Anthony’s and Arden Hill hospitals, particularly Dr. Cappelleri, Dr. Cieplinski, Dr. Siegel, Dr. Feldman, Dr. Barie and many others. This care team did everything they could to give Colly a fighting chance to live, then, when there was no hope, allowed me to take her home to spend her last days in comfort and dignity. Colly gave me the best of times. My children and I wanted to be there in the worst of times. Someone asked how Colly should be remembered. I have asked that a tree be planted in Colly’s name along one of Warwick’s beautiful streets. When this tree is in its most glorious bloom; proud, strong, elegant, beautiful to its core, then I will celebrate Colly’s life. This is how she should be remembered. Bill Leech Warwick
