Chickens or the eggs

We are Town of Warwick residents and have watched with interest the movement to permit chicken-keeping in Warwick Village. They are easy-keepers, consuming all your household’s food waste, cost under a few dollars each and do lay that daily egg. However, be aware that they drop wet, sticky, odorous feces everywhere and in just one day, can produce at least a whole cupful. Female chickens or hens are the ONLY choice. A male chicken or rooster begins crowing about 5 a.m. every day and continues throughout the day. It is an extremely loud, harsh and piercing cry. Our nearest neighbors are a quarter mile away and vigorously complained until our rooster was gone (the hens still continue laying eggs) Be warned. L. Blake Warwick
