Bartnowski is hard-working guy of high integrity'
To the editor: I respectfully recommend David Bartnowski for election to the Village Board of Trustees. At first blush, I could be considered unqualified to make such a suggestion since I do not live in the Village and live only part-time in the Town. But the Village is why my wife and I are here at all. Before building our home we looked at many communities on both sides of the Hudson River as far north as Columbia County. The charms of Warwick Village sold us on this area. But therein lies the problem. It is because of the Village that, at age 70, I have to keep working part-time in Daytona Beach. I recently evaluated where my income is going and it turns out it is right here. The most major culprits are Silken Wool and Gilsenan Designs; however, Forever Jewelers. Iriniri, Frazzleberries, the Inkwell, Country Life and Sanford Insurance Agency are also guilty. Offenders across the street include my hang-out, Yesterdays, and Newhard’s, Akins, Style Counsel, Baby Grand Books, etc. So it is the commercial Village that is forcing an old man to keep working. I know David Bartnowski well because he built our home and several additions. He’s an outstanding, hard-working guy of high integrity. Moreover, he and his wife Carol (who owns the Inkwell) know how important it is to maintain a viable downtown in one of the most charming villages in New York State and which, in my opinion, is far more attractive than sunny Florida.
