Barlet is ‘even-handed'

To the editor: I was employed by the Town of Warwick Police Department for 30 years and urge everyone to re-elect Peter Barlet as Warwick Town Justice on Nov. 8. I have appeared before Justice Barlet innumerable times on vehicle and traffic and criminal cases and find him to be knowledgeable about the law, thorough in his preparation and extremely even-handed in his decisions. The position of town justice requires an individual to be available 24-hours a day, seven-days a week. This is a critical issue to all police agencies. Despite the hour or the inconvenience to his family, Justice Barlet has always been there for the local police and individuals needing his services at any time of the night or day. This is particularly critical for victims of domestic violence, who often times require temporary orders of protections to be issued without delay. In this, and a hundred other ways, Peter Barlet deserves our support for re-election as Warwick Town justice. Respectfully, Ptl. (Ret.) Frank Cuevas Warwick
