Appalled

To the editor: I am writing this letter in response to the article written about the incidents that took place at Warwick Valley High School on June 13, 2006. I am a junior at Warwick Valley High School and I am completely disgusted with the actions that took place. Being a student at Warwick, I am appalled that my fellow students in this beautiful town do not have the decency to respect not only the school and administration, but the town in which we live. As high school students, we are supposed to be role models for the students that are to soon follow us. There was a bulletin on Myspace saying, “We run things.” Some of the body of the bulletin was placed on the front page of The Warwick Advertiser: “Food fights, fighting with Police.” That is NOT role model behavior. It’s pathetic! I do not think that the students took into consideration the amount of money that is coming out of our parents’ pockets to restore the ceiling tiles and other necessities that were destroyed. I hope that next year, students consider the consequences before they re-live this year’s incidents. Joe Rodenbaugh Warwick
