Access not possible

To the editor: I find it very interesting that Annie Rabbitt has finally decided to be seen among her constituents. How unfortunate it is though, that she chose a location for her fundraiser, hosted by Mr. Baldwin, which is not accessible to persons using wheelchairs. However, that is par for the course when dealing with the assemblywoman, access to her is on her terms, not her constituency. Unless of course you are as lucky as I was last September at the Irish Heritage Festival, when after parking my vehicle in an outer parking lot and wheeling my wheelchair across the unlevel, rocky terrain, I found myself next to a beautiful Jaguar, complete with N.Y.S. Member of Assembly license plates, parked in a handicap vehicle only spot (no hanging handicap vehicle placard to be seen) and seeing my assemblywoman, Annie Rabbitt, getting into the Jag and driving away. Now, I realize that the assemblywoman may have a disability, but I know for a fact that being Republican is not a recognized disability, at least not under the ADA. I’m with Paduch!! Charles Mitchell
