A theft in the middle of the night
To the editor: I’m sorry to report that one of the mannequins for the Warwick Summer Arts Festival was stolen from Railroad Green on the night of July 4th. This mannequin was the work of John Creagh, a wonderful local artist, who put tremendous time and energy and vision into this wonderful art work. The title of the piece was “Half Moon,” named after Henry Hudson’s boat and celebrating the Hudson Valley. This brings a great sadness and disappointment to what is otherwise a fantastic project involving more than area 30 artists. Whoever took this mannequin, we ask that you return it to Railroad Green or to any of the local merchants for safe keeping - no questions asked. If anyone knows of the mannequin’s whereabouts, please contact the Warwick Arts Festival with this information at 845-987-9836 or contact us through our Web site at www.warwickarts.org. Sincerely, Elizabeth Reese, director Warwick Summer Arts Festival
