A place in the parade for the little people
To the editor: I have a dream for 2007: For the annual parade in the village have our little people ride in the back of a pick-up truck with hay or mats and balloons tied to the roof (color of their uniforms) blowing on their party horns, passing out candy, lollypops to the cheering crowds. See their smiling faces. To top the parade let’s buy a pair of magnetted rubber signs with their team name on them. For a 6 x 24 sign costs $35 a pair and use them along with the equipment every year. Maybe the team mothers or whomever could easily collect sufficient funds at the games or in front of our stores. I, for one, will donate $35 each for two teams if there isn’t enough interest. Come on, big people, jump on the bandwagon. Someday our little people will gladly look out for us big people. If the schools in town can ride on floats, pick-up trucks and convertibles, why can’t our little people? I’m sure there are enough vehicles in town to accommodate this. Maybe other towns will follow Warwick. Barbara Le Due Warwick
