‘A good public library is critical'

To the editor: We were glad to learn last week that a date has been set for a referendum on the new library building. The present library is much too small for a community the size of Warwick. It is crowded because the board and staff make every effort to keep it well stocked and up to date, despite serious space limitations. We need a public library with both print and electronic materials, but also with sufficient space to work with them. While our children are young and just beginning to enjoy the library’s pre-school collection and programs, we want them to grow up understanding the importance of “learning to learn.” A good public library is critical to that goal.
