A favor to all of us'
To the editor: Albert Wisner Public Library is a welcoming, user-friendly and inclusive place. A repository of knowledge, it promotes literacy and the pleasure of learning. Sadly, the library’s historic premises in the center of our village are no longer adequate to serve the needs of the community. The library board of trustees wishes to build a modern facility. A preliminary step toward realization of that goal is dedication of McFarland Road as a public street. We urge the village board of trustees to expedite the process, balancing its legitimate concern for roadway maintenance with the desirability of facilitating construction of a new library. If expedition in this matter somehow constitutes a favor, it is a favor to all of us in the community. Accordingly, get on with it! We anticipate that all involved in the process will cooperate to achieve the result. Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes Village of Warwick
