'A community filled with such spirit'

Once again the people of the Town of Warwick have shown an overwhelming generosity to their less fortunate neighbors. The Warwick Ecumenical Council Thanksgiving/Christmas Food Basket program would like to send out a grateful and heartfelt thank you to the residents of the Town of Warwick. We were able to provide holiday meals for 242 families at Thanksgiving and 362 families at Christmas (which includes 90 baskets prepared and delivered to single farm worker men). This program, completely run by volunteers, would not be possible without the incredible generosity of so many in our community who, in such difficult economic times, still found the holiday spirit and gave above and beyond any of our expectations. We want to express our sincere thanks to: Rosenberg Enterprises, Dr. Ray Bryant and the Warwick Valley Central School System, Bon Secours Charity Health System, Warwick ShopRite for their continued support of our program in so many ways. Also to Ochs Orchards, Pennings Farm Store, the Warwick Merchants Guild who coordinated the Angel tree, Susan and Glenn Dickes, Betsy and Ken at Track 7 Postal, Old World Bagels, the Warwick Fire Department, Seely and Durland Insurance, WVT Communications Group, Warwick FFA, Pepperidge Farm and Gen Rothlauf, Joe and John who with their kitchen teams fed all the volunteers, the Warwick Rotary Club, the Warwick Lions Club, and our good and faithful friends Lee and Paul. We also want to offer a very special thanks to all the individuals, too numerous to list, who donated food, gifts, and money, adopted families, volunteered their time the days of the baskets, and helped in so many ways to make the holidays especially joyous for so many local families. We are truly blessed to be living in a community filled with such a spirit of giving and caring. Please keep in mind that the Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry is open year round to meet the needs of our community and is always in need of nonperishable food donations or cash gifts. May you all have a Happy and Healthy New Year! The Warwick Ecumenical Food Basket Committee Michele Carter Regina Foley Jane Gareiss Marge Koopman Amy Lawlor Rev. Richard Ryley
