135 pounds of ‘Christmas goodies'

To the editor: I want to thank the community for coming together once again to help support the two Platoons the Greenwood Lake American Legion adopted. We have one platoon in Afghanistan with 20 soldiers and another in Iraq with 40 soldiers. We mailed 135 pounds of Christmas goodies to them. I hope to send out another shipment during the second week in January to arrive for Valentine’s Day. I am once again asking for the support of our community. Whether it be a Valentine’s Day card, a new pair of socks, some junk food, a book - let’s let our soldiers know we are thinking of them. We can never have too many donations. If our platoons have an overabundance, they share with the surrounding platoons. You can drop off donations at the Greenwood Lake American Legion any day after 4 p.m. or at the Warwick Eye Center, 35 Ronald Reagan Blvd. on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. Once again, thank you for helping us support those who are supporting our country. Jean Kittle Warwick
