Young NYC man drowns in Harriman State Park lake

    NYACK — Police say a New York City drowned in a lake in Harriman State Park. The 31-year-old Bronx man was not breathing and had no pulse by the time paramedics arrived at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The victim was taken to Nyack Hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to the Journal News, witnesses said the man was in the designated swimming area of Lake Welch. He was pulled out by lifeguards who administered CPR. He was not immediately identified. Lake Welch Beach is one of the most popular areas in the park. Last year, 400,000 visited.
