Goshen - WVT Communications Inc. donated $10,000 to the Orange County Partnership earlier this month that will be used to market the county to prospective businesses, according to Maureen Halahan, the president and CEO of the partnership. The Orange County Partnership is the economic development agency for Orange County. WVT Communications President and CEO Duane Albro presented the check to Halahan and Board Chair Jim Smith on July 2. “One of my top priorities is to collaborate with and support organizations that are actively striving to sustain our economy and our community.” Albro said. “The Partnership team is a dynamic group of business-focused people who are dedicated to the intelligent growth of our region and the betterment of the communities we all live in. “Warwick Valley Telephone Company has strong community ties and a rich history of providing innovative offerings,” Albro added. “As a growth business, it makes good corporate sense to support organizations who are dedicated to smartly growing our business economy.” The grant will be used in a new marketing initiative to support current Partnership programs which include marketing Orange County to prospective clients and helping businesses that are already here succeed. “The Partnership has a number of top-notch marketing tools that we use to attract new enterprise to the area and help sustain existing ones,” Halahan stated. “WVT Communications’ grant will infuse additional funding into those efforts. This is a perfect example of a public-private partnership.” Halahan added: “Mr. Albro’s vision is much broader than bandwidth. He’s what we look for in a new partner, a business that sees the value of balanced growth in terms of what it can bring to a community. Rateables, jobs and prosperity are what we agree on. The Warwick community has the opportunity to take advantage of Mr. Albro’s dynamic approach and visionary plan. His proactive attitude will go far beyond the confines of WVT.”
