WVHS 2009 plans That 90's Telethon' for Sunday, April 26
Warwick - Spring is here, and once again WVHS Communications II students are eagerly preparing for the annual telethon. Each year, the Communications II class produces a four-hour long broadcast live from the WVHS studio. The four hours are filled with highlights from various sports, clubs and events in the school. Each year, the class chooses a theme to focus on throughout the four hours. This year, Communications II has named “The 90’s” as their theme after a schoolwide vote. The communications students aim to take a stroll down memory lane with their classmates throughout the four hours. The telethon will examine fads, music, fashions and events that defined the decade that shaped the early childhood of the Class of 2009. This year’s telethon will take place on April 26 from 5 to 9 p.m. It can be watched on Channel 12 and 77, or viewed online at www.ustream.tv. The goal is to raise money for the Class of 2009’s All-Night Party, taking place the night of graduation, June 27, at Minerals Spa and Resort in Vernon, N.J. Viewers are encouraged to call in throughout the four hours and pledge donations to help the telethon reach its goal. This year’s class has not yet set their financial goal, but telethons in the past had pledges equaling more than $7,000. This article was provided by Julia Fitzgerald.
