WVCC plans free trip to Rye Playland Saturday, open Mic Night on Sunday

Warwick - The Warwick Valley Community Center’s Summer Solutions ’06 staff hosts its second annual trip to Rye Playland this Saturday, Aug. 19. The group will be leaving by bus at 10 a.m. from the Community Center parking lot at 11 Hamilton Ave. in Warwick and return at 8 p.m. The Summer Solutions ‘06 staff is picking up the cost of admission, transportation and unlimited Playland rides. Space is limited and filling up quick. All children under 18 will need a signed permission slip from a parent. Call 845-986-6422 or registration or more information. Meanwhile, on Sunday, Aug. 20, the Warwick Valley Community Center will host an Open Mic Night, opening its stage from 6 to 9 p.m. for any local musicians, poets, artists and performers. All performers should show up to sign in at 5:30 p.m. Stage time will be given out at a first-come, first-serve basis. The admission is free; refreshments will be provided.
