Photo by Thom Cronin Florida - Joe Plojaczak of Yulan is one lucky man, although he probably didn’t think so on Monday. Plojaczak was working in his bucket loader on Mount Eve Road, replacing fill that had been washed away in a mud slide during the April flooding. On an incline, the loader stalled and rolled back. Plojaczak tried to roll it into a bank to stop it, according to Warwick Police Sgt. Alton Morley, but it threw him loose in the cab. When it came to a stop, Plojaczak’s hand was pinned between the frame and the cab. It took volunteers from Florida EMS and the Florida Fire Department, along with a heavy duty wrecker from Chet’s garage, to lift the frame off the man’s hand. Plojaczak, 49, was flown by Medical Life Support to Westchester County Medical Center. His condition on was stable. His injuries were not life-threatening. “He was one lucky man,” said Morley.
