Scores for Friday, Feb. 10 Callahan and Nannini (Blooming Grove) vs. Halligan’s Public House (Warwick) Final score: Callahan and Nannini 5, Halligan’s Public House 1 At half time Halligan’s Pulbic House was down 2-0 and responded with a quick goal in the second half by Jen Disy. Halligan’s was excited to be back in the game, but ran out of fuel with no subs and an injury to one of their players and lost 5-1. Sarah Franklin and Melissa Nicks played excellent defense for Halligan’s. Callahan and Nannini goals were scored by Stefanie Bliss, Courtney Pagliaro, Noreen Nannini, Victoria Fleming, and Gina Dudgeon. Sweet Thoughts (Washingtonville) vs. Keltic House (Fishkill) Final score: Sweet Thoughts 9, Keltic House 1 Sweet Thoughts’ goals were scored by Beth Van Pelt and Cathy Thompson with 4 goals each and Jennifer Davis added 1. Beth Frey and Julie Shappy played an excellent game in goal. Keltic House earned a goal in the second half which was scored by Jessie Nelson off an assist from Rachel Boccard. Heather Gilbert and Marie Cassels took many shots against the Sweet Thoughts team goalies. Heather Lodini, Jessie Nelson, and Michelle Steingart shared time in goal for Keltic House against an aggressive Sweet Thoughts team. Schlesinger’s (New Windsor) vs. Cutting Edge (Montgomery) Final score: Schlesinger’s 6, Cutting Edge 1 Schlesinger’s defeated Cutting Edge 6-1. Schlesinger’s struck early, scoring in the first minute of the game and continued to dominate the field. Cutting Edge tried to keep up and had many shots on goal, but was only able to connect with one of them scored by Lisa Auty who played strong offensively. Optimized-Energy (Warwick) vs. The Copper Bottom (Florida) Final score: Optimized-Energy 5, The Copper Bottom 1 It was a good match up as usual against Optimized-Energy. They played the ball well. The Copper Bottom team is a well-balanced team with all strong players and is more accustomed to playing outdoors. They have some new talented players on the team and are adjusting to everyone’s style of play. Newcomer, Kim Wojehowski, scored the only goal for The Copper Bottom in the end of the first half. As the season progresses, The Copper Bottom team foresees making some amazing things happen. Laura Farley scored three goals for the Optimized-Energy team. Andrea DeCastro and Melinda McDonald each added a goal to bring their team to a 5-1 victory over the The Copper Bottom team. As always, Melinda McDonald and Andrea DeCastro both did an excellent job as goalkeeper.
