Women's entrepreneurship conference set for Oct. 26
Loch Sheldrake The third annual Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference will be held at Sullivan County Community College from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 26. The conference features workshops designed to assist women with starting a new business or growing a current business. Joyce Salimeno, the president of Gersten-Hillman Insurance, a division of Marshall-Sterling, is the keynote speaker. Her topic is “Pursuing Your Possibilities” and Salimeno will challenge participants to leave no stone un-turned in their pursuit of becoming a successful business owner. The day also features a variety of workshops. Morning workshops include Getting Started with Myriad Bouchard, a certified business advisor for the Mid-Hudson Region Small Business Development Center; Financial Resources to Grow Your Business with Jennifer Brylinski, the executive director of the Sullivan County Industrial Development Agency. Preparing a Business Plan - A Step by Step Guide with Charlene Finerty, who has owned her own business and worked for Fortune 500 companies, will be offered in the afternoon. The fee for the conference is $35 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Pre-registration is required.
