Warwick - On Saturday, June 16, the staff of Winslow Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding Center along with local officials and guest speakers, volunteers, families and members of the business community gathered together for the formal dedication and ribbon cutting of the Center’s new Pathways of Hope and Garden of Five Senses. The path through the Garden of Five Senses is one of the “Pathways of Hope” which will be set in various locations on the property. The garden path, built by volunteers with contributions raised by selling dedication bricks and stones, was designed so that disabled riders, their friends and families could enjoy the Garden of Five Senses. “This pathway,” said Executive Director Christine Tawpash, “is made of stone, which is symbolic of longevity. We thank everyone who contributed their time and money to give our special need individuals an opportunity to grow and flourish.” Winslow, founded in 1974, is a not for profit Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding Center devoted to the special needs population of Orange and surrounding counties. The Center is located on 100 acres of scenic land just off Route 17A in Warwick, which was donated by the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor in the fall of 1998.
